Washington FFA 2019 Honorary American Degree Recipients Announced

Washington FFA is proud to have four individuals selected to receive the Honorary American Degree at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana this October:

  • Craig Shindler, Prosser

  • Rebecca Wallace, Olympia

  • Abbie DeMeerleer, Colton

  • Ricardo Ibarra, Seattle

All four individuals are past Washington state officers and are serving/have served on the WAFFA Board of Directors in the past 5 years. They have also served National FFA through various means - National FFA Talent, State Staff roles and judging, industry partnerships, event coordination, etc.

The Honorary American Degree is awarded to individuals who have provided exceptional service on a national level to agriculture, agricultural education, or FFA are eligible for the Honorary American FFA Degree. Additionally, teachers who have created high-quality agricultural education programs which inspire and motivate their students to strive for success are eligible. Nominations are first submitted to the individual’s state FFA association for approval.
